Smooth Jazz veteran Kelly Monson begins your day with just the right
balance of music, information and entertainment for a smooth and
refreshing morning. Kelly has been at 97.9 The Breeze for nine years and
loves starting the day with Utah's smooth jazz listeners.
"When I was a teenager, radio provided so much pleasure and was such an
important part of my lifestyle, I figured it would be cool to be on this
side of it. Luckily, I was right; it's been a wonderful musical journey
and something I look forward to every day."
Kelly was raised in Provo and moved to Salt Lake City when he was 14 and
decided to attend the University of Utah, just a few blocks away. He
remains a loyal Utah Man, cheering on football, basketball, soccer and
gymnastics.
Much of his time away from radio is spent driving his girls from place to
place. ("The younger kids will be driving soon. Wish me luck.") Kelly also loves to read, golf and play poker and he is a USSF referee. He likes
classical music and has over 300 Christmas CDs.
"I would love to travel more. I've been to some great spots, such as
Alaska, Hawaii and Egypt. But I need to get to Norway, Italy and New
Zealand...after a visit to Disney World, of course."
Kelly's smooth and easy-going style is a nice match for 97.9 The Breeze.
His musicality, his passion for quality radio and his friendly style have
kept him a familiar voice in Utah for 30 years.
Listen to Kelly along with newsman Rick Lindsay weekdays 5:00 to 10:00 a.m.
