Melissa has been in radio for over a decade, when she was a kid she would spend many of days just listing to music. KUTE at the U was her first on-air gig and she has been hooked ever since. Melissa has worked in St George, Idaho Falls and now back home at Now 97.9

Barb Thomas decided she wanted to become a DJ at the ripe old age of 13 when she sat glued to the radio, waiting for her request to be played so she could record it on one of her many Memorex blank cassette tapes. She’s pretty sure she has a few of those collections of partial songs kicking around her basement somewhere.
Her dream of being on the radio came true in early 1994 when some overnight DJ called in sick at the radio station where she was interning and she was allowed to go live from 2-3am when she could do the least amount of damage if she screwed up. These days she’s somewhat less likely to screw up and NOW 97.9 trusts her to be on the air at a more reasonable time. You can listen to Barb evenings, and she’ll tell you what’s happening in the community, what’s happening in the world of pop culture, and probably a story or two about her husband or two big fur children.
